I have only been back to Berlin for about a week, when I was offered to
work in Toronto for a Mr.Clean shooting once more. Of course I was
happy to go, but this time I never really got accustomed to the time
difference. Even though I felt jet-lagged most of the time, I was happy
to meet my colleagues on and around the set again. But I'm happy to be
back at home, doing some PHP coding, getting sucked into the
podcast-hole and looking forward to see my friends in Wiesbaden. Did I
mention I had a great time watching Serenity? And Shopgirl is my new
most favorite love story. Hugs and kisses, AndY.
This
may sound strange to the people that know me, because I don't drink
coffee. What it really means is that I've started coding in the Java
programming language. For many years I thought high-level programming
languages where confusing and that 6502 assembler was the only way to
write code. Well, I finally opened my mind and I'm actually enjoying
Java. Even more I like the concept of object-oriented-programming and
I'm sure my insights into Java will also become usefull with MEL and
others. Enough of that...
I hope you all enjoyed the Siggraph news, my
personal favorites round up like this: Maya 7, XSI 5, PRMan/MtoR,
Gelato 2, of course there was a lot more, but hey, this isn't CGTalk :-) Gone for a second cup!
I've spent the past months at fiftyeight working on various Mr.Clean
projects. Aside from the projects, I really had a great time with my
friends there. I'll be updating the projects page in a few days so you
can see what I've been working on. So now is the perfect time to enjoy
a short summerbreak together with my girlfriend and looking forward to
what exciting things happen at Siggraph this year. Get out and and enjoy non-CG sunlight ;-)
I
was given the chance to come back to Toronto and I sure wasn't sad
about it. I really enjoyed my visit last winter, but coming back here
in early summer is even better. First thing I did after checking in
at the hotel was to head over to the Eaton Center and get
myself
a PSP. Sonys new gadget is just awesome, nice design with a never
before
seen screen in a portable device to enjoy games as well as movies. But
you've probably read this before, I just wanted to reiterate. StarWars
was on the agenda the next day. After seeing the movie twice in german,
I wanted to see the original. I've read some english reviews
criticizing the acting in this movie, these reviewers should go see the
german dub since it makes the situation much worse. I really enjoyed
the
picture and sound quality though, as long as it lasted since the show
was ended halfway by a fire alarm and I decided not to watch it again.
That pretty much was the weekend and today was the first day of
shooting. Everything went well and I hope it stays that way for the coming five days. Wish me luck!

Yes, I've been working like a bee to fill the projects section. What
you see there are pictures of projects I've been involved with and a
short description of what part I played during the production. Up until
now most of the stuff is in the Fifyeight 3D section. Feel
free to comment.
